$GRVY Releases Ragnarok Online 2 in Korea Today

After a very long wait, and through many different iterations of Ragnarok Online 2, Gravity ($GRVY) has finally released the MMPORG in Korea today.  Here is the long awaited press release.  The stock had been battered over the past several years with the poor development of RO2, but after new management, the game has been released.  Currently, it is only released in Korea, but local licensing has been granted to Thailand, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Indonesia and Brazil. I’ve been long $GRVY for a year.  The stock was a bargain in the $1+ range, but has since...

Behavior Economics Reading List

I do a lot of reading about finance, stock investing, economics, real estate, and business.  I’ve created a value investing reading list that tries to aggregate all of the investing books that a value investor should read.  Of course, the list is quite long, so I’m trying to write reviews on all of them to help people decide the priority of reading each book.  Eventually I would like to gather everyone’s feedback to rate each of the books, so I would have a crowd-sourced ranked list. The list that I created is focused on investing, but everyone should also...

ASYS – Amtech Systems Analysis

Amtech Systems – ASYS I started to look at the companies in the solar industry since the industry has been drastically depressed lately.  I wanted to see if I could find an investment idea or two in the industry.  I came across ASYS (Amtech Systems), which has a solid balance sheet and no long term debt, with a solid portfolio of products and patents. Business Overview  ASYS is a global provider of thermal processing systems which includes related automation, parts and services for the solar / photovoltaic, semiconductor, silicon wafer and MEMS industries.  In addition, ASYS also manufactures and...

Berkshire Hathaway 2011 Annual Report

Berkshire Annual Report Highlights for 2011 Link to the Annual Report Below are some of the highlights that I picked up from reading the 2011 Annual Report from Berkshire Hathaway.  I would recommend reading the full report by yourself as the information provided by Warren Buffett is always worthy of being read. The primary job of a Board of Directors is to see that the right people are running the business and to be sure that the next generation of leaders is identified and ready to take over tomorrow. The per-share book value of both our Class A and...

Book Review: Value Investing – From Graham to Buffett and Beyond by Bruce Greenwald

I finished reading Value Investing: From Graham to Buffett and Beyond which is written by Bruce Greenwald, and Judd Kahn.    The book was published in 2001, which is 11 years old now.  The book is broken up into 3 sections: Section 1 is an introduction to Value Investing, Section 2 discusses the three sources of value, and the last section covers profiles of eight value investors. Section 1: Introduction to Value Investing The first section is a pretty basic introduction to value investing, covering definitions, along with some results to provide credibility to value investing.  This section just...
